President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside Nigeria’s service chiefs, on Monday officially unveiled the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem, marking the formal commencement of nationwide activities honouring the country’s fallen heroes, veterans, and serving military personnel.

The emblem launch, a solemn annual tradition, sets the stage for commemorations leading up to the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed every January 15. The event celebrates members of the Nigerian Armed Forces who paid the ultimate price in defence of the nation, as well as those who continue to serve in various theatres of operation.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the military, particularly families of fallen soldiers and veterans who have sacrificed for Nigeria’s unity and security.

The President’s unveiling of the 2025 emblem signals the beginning of a series of remembrance activities across the country, including wreath-laying ceremonies, parades, memorial services, fundraising initiatives, and community engagements geared toward supporting the Nigerian Legion and families of late servicemen.

This year’s emblem serves as a symbol of gratitude, unity, and national solidarity, urging citizens, institutions, and corporate organisations to participate actively in supporting the welfare of ex-servicemen and their dependents.

Nationwide events will continue in the weeks leading up to January 15, 2025, as Nigeria once again honours its heroes—past and present.
