YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, has topped Forbes’ 2026 ranking of the world’s highest-earning content creators, with estimated earnings of $300 million over the past year.
The ranking, published on June 23, 2026, also highlights the rapid growth of the global creator economy, with the 50 featured personalities generating a combined estimated $1.02 billion in gross earnings between March 2025 and March 2026.
According to Forbes, the collective earnings represent a 20 per cent increase from the $853 million recorded in the previous year’s ranking and an 80 per cent rise from the list’s debut in 2022.
MrBeast’s earnings place him far ahead of the other creators featured on the list, accounting for nearly 30 per cent of the combined total. His estimated income is more than four times that of second-placed filmmaker Dhar Mann, who earned an estimated $65 million.
The North Carolina-born creator has transformed his YouTube success, built around elaborate challenges, large-scale productions and giveaways, into a growing business empire under Beast Industries.
His ventures include Feastables chocolate, the Lunchly food brand, the Viewstats analytics platform and licensing agreements. He has also expanded into streaming entertainment through the Amazon Prime Video reality competition series Beast Games.
The ranking illustrates how leading content creators are increasingly moving beyond advertising revenue and sponsorships to establish businesses across entertainment, consumer products, technology and investments.
Dhar Mann, who operates a production studio known for scripted videos built around moral lessons and social situations, ranked second with estimated earnings of $65 million and 171 million followers across platforms.
British entrepreneur Steven Bartlett took third place with $52 million. Best known as the host of The Diary of a CEO, Bartlett has expanded his business interests into podcasts, books, live events and investments. He also appears as an investor on the British television programme Dragons’ Den.
Gaming creator Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, ranked fourth with estimated earnings of $38 million. He has expanded beyond online videos into filmmaking and podcasting, including the feature film Iron Lung.
Comedy duo Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, known collectively as Rhett & Link, placed fifth with $37 million. Their business includes the long-running YouTube programme Good Mythical Morning, the Mythical Kitchen channel and other entertainment ventures.
Other creators in the top 10 include Charli D’Amelio, Druski, IShowSpeed, Mark Rober and Codie Sanchez.
D’Amelio, known for her TikTok dance videos, recorded estimated earnings of $18 million, while comedian Druski earned $20 million. Livestreamer IShowSpeed and science content creator Mark Rober each generated an estimated $30 million.
Sanchez, an investor and entrepreneur who creates content about acquiring and operating small businesses, earned an estimated $31 million despite having a substantially smaller combined following than several other personalities on the list.
Her position highlights how creators who specialise in business education and investment-related content can generate substantial income through ventures beyond conventional social media advertising.
Forbes’ methodology considers estimated earnings, total followers across platforms, average engagement and an entrepreneurship score measuring creators’ success in building businesses beyond their content.
The earnings figures are estimates of gross income and do not include the value of equity holdings in companies.
The ranking reflects a broader transformation in the entertainment industry, as online personalities increasingly operate production studios, launch consumer brands, develop streaming programmes and pursue theatrical releases.
Unlike traditional media businesses that often rely on established distributors and broadcasters, many creators maintain direct relationships with their audiences through social media platforms while building independent commercial operations.
MrBeast’s lead illustrates the scale that this business model can achieve when a large digital audience is combined with multiple revenue streams.
The growth recorded in Forbes’ latest ranking also signals the increasing commercial significance of online content creation, which has developed from a largely advertising-driven activity into a broader industry spanning media production, retail, technology and entrepreneurship.
