The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a strong warning to Nigerians, party supporters, and political stakeholders to disregard alleged results from its recently concluded nationwide primaries currently circulating across social media platforms.

The party made the clarification in an official statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq, and dated May 31, 2026, stressing that no official results have been released and that only the National Executive Council (NEC) is authorized to announce the outcome of the primaries conducted on May 28 and 29, 2026.

The statement comes amid growing speculation and heightened political interest following the conclusion of the party’s nationwide delegate elections, with several unverified lists of purported winners making rounds online.

According to the NDC, all authentic results remain under the custody of the party’s NEC pending formal review, ratification, and announcement.

“The general public is hereby urged to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the nationwide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on the 28th and 29th of May, 2026,” the statement read.

“The results of the primaries are with the National Executive Council (NEC) of our great party. They are solely responsible for announcements of results.”

The party further revealed that, on the directive of its National Leader, Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson, all NEC members have been summoned to Abuja for a crucial meeting that will determine the official outcome of the primaries.

According to the statement, a pre-NEC consultation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, while the substantive NEC meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Party officials say the gathering will provide an opportunity for NEC members to review reports from across the federation, ratify the primaries process, and approve the final list of candidates who will emerge as the party’s standard-bearers.

The NDC assured members that once the process is completed, the approved candidates will be officially announced and their names forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with electoral regulations.

Political observers say the party’s latest statement is aimed at curbing misinformation and preventing confusion among supporters ahead of what is expected to be a highly competitive political season.

With anticipation mounting nationwide, attention is now focused on the June 3 NEC meeting, where the party is expected to formally unveil the candidates who will represent the NDC in upcoming elections.

Until then, the party insists that any purported results circulating on social media remain unofficial and should be treated as false and misleading.
