The Federal Government has fixed Monday, September 22, 2014 as new resumption date for primary and secondary schools across the country.
On Tuesday August 12, the government approved the indefinite postponement of resumption date of private and public schools to October 13, 2014 as parts of measures to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus disease, EVD in the country.
Onyebuchi Chukwu, Nigeria’s Minister of Health had on Wednesday said the Minister of Education has been directed by the council to convene an emergency meeting with all states commissioners of Education so as to agree on when schools can resume nationwide.
This came after a body of experts set up by the government to look at the extension of resumption dates had made a recommendation for the review.
