Governor Abba Yusuf has responded to allegations raised by Bafa Bichi, former secretary to the state government, SSG who recently made some allegations against the administration of the governor. Governor Yusuf said Bichi is not someone who should be believed, as, according to him, “The claims are not only false but also laughable. Baffa Bichi is a big liar, and everything he said is a total fallacy”.
A statement signed by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, director general, media and publicity, in the office of the governor, said it was curious that Bichi chose to keep quiet until he was relieved of his appointment as the SSG before suddenly deciding to raise some fabulous story about corruption in government.
The governor said, “You were in this government for more than a year, If you had any integrity, you would have spoken out while still in office. But you chose silence until you were sent parking. That exposes your real motive”.
Governor Abba Yusuf emphatically refuted claims by Bichi that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankaso, former governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, is receiving N2 billion monthly from the Kano State Government, describing the allegations as “the height of political desperation and dishonesty.”
Contrary to the claim by Bichi, the governor said, “Senator Kwankwaso is one of the purest and most selfless individuals in Kano. He has never demanded a penny from this administration, nor has he interfered with the government’s finances”.
