Igbeleke Ajibefun has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Adekunle Ajasin

University, Akungba, AAUA, Ondo State.

This followed the expiration of the tenure of Olufemi Mimiko as the VC of AAUA. Before the appointment of Ajibefun he was the Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, RUGIPO, a polytechnic owned by the state government.

Ajibefun is a First Class Honours graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA. He began his academic career in 1993 as an assistant lecturer, from where he rose to become an Associate Professor in October, 2006.

He bagged his M.Sc and PhD degrees at the University of Ibadan and the Federal University of Technology, Akure, respectively. According to a statement issued by Kayode Akinmade, State Commissioner for Information, in Akure, the new Vice Chancellor’s appointment takes immediate effect.
