Two TELL reporters, Anthony Akaeze, Associate Editor and Juliana Uche-Okobi, Assistant Editor, have been named finalists in a Pulitzer Grant reporting contest for land issues in Nigeria. The two reporters, who jointly applied for the grant, are part of three entrants shortlisted by the organizers, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. This was revealed by Steve Sapienza, Senior Producer, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, who, in a mail to the duo early this month, said the journalists were chosen, along with two others, after a rigorous selection process. “The competition was stiff, with many great story ideas, and in the end, we narrowed it down to three finalists,” said Sapienza. He further revealed that, from the three finalists, a winner will later be selected. This would happen after the finalists participate in two training workshops later this month in Lagos.
