The long arm of the law has finally caught up with the alleged killer of Madam Maria Oredola, mother of a former governor of Edo State, Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion.
Dominion Okoro, said to be in her early 20s, reportedly strangled the 85 year-old woman on December 2, 2021, and made away with her gold jewelry, money, and other valuables.
The suspect was said to have been arrested Tuesday night in Calabar, the Cross River State capital by the tactical combined team of the Nigerian Police and other concerned citizens, and being detained at the Edo State police command headquarters, Benin.
While efforts to reach the state police public relations officer, PPRO, Bello Kontongs, superintendent of police. SP, were unsuccessful as of press time, a credible inside source hinted that Okoro would soon be charged to court to answer for the crime.
