The Kwara State House of Assembly today granted Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed’s request to source for N2bn loan from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, MSME Development Fund of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Gana Yissa, deputy speaker of the House made the announcement after the plenary which he presided over in Ilorin.
Yissa emphasized the importance of approving the governor’s request putting into consideration the great opportunity it stands to yield and advised the governor to use the fund judiciously for the purpose for which it is meant.
The Deputy Speaker directed Oyetunde Oyeniyi, the Clerk of the House, to inform Ahmed of the approval of his request.
In the letter of request, the state government had on August 19, 2014 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CBN in an attempt to boost small and medium scale enterprises in Kwara State.
