The Correspondents Chapel of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, will Tuesday December 14, 2021 bring on the front burner of public discourse the issue of land grabbing.
This is an issue that has posed a major challenge to both the state government and the Benin traditional institution. The chapel has chosen this as the topic of a lecture during the 2021edition of its annual Correspndents Lecture series.

The state governor, Godwin Obaseki, and the Oba of Benin, Ewuare 11, are expected at the lecture titled ‘Menace of Land Grabbing And the Threat to Public Peace’. The lecture will be delivered by human rights activist and fiery lawyer, Dele Igbinedion.

A statement on Sunday, by the Chairperson of the Chapel, Mrs. Nefishetu Yakubu, and Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, said while Governor Obaseki would be the special guest of honour, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba of Benin, would be the Royal Father of the Day at the event to be held at the NUJ Press Centre in Benin City.
