The former Anambra State Commissioner for Information, C-Don Adinuba, has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that ex-Governor Willie Obiano has passed away. Adinuba clarified on Thursday that Obiano is alive, healthy, and currently residing in Houston, Texas, where he has been living since leaving office.

Social media had been awash with unverified reports alleging Obiano’s death, triggering panic among supporters and political associates. Adinuba, who served under the former governor, described the rumours as “malicious and completely unfounded,” urging the public to disregard them.

According to him, Obiano has been in regular communication with close friends and associates and is “enjoying good health and peace of mind” in the United States.

The clarification has put an end to the viral speculation, with many calling for restraint and responsibility in sharing unverified claims online.
