FCT Police Publishes Contacts of All Area Commanders, DPOs to Boost Security and Community Policing
CP Dantawaye explained that the initiative is part of his broader strategic plan to bring police authority closer to the people, foster trust, and promote stronger police–community collaboration in the fight against crime.
In a major step to strengthen security coordination and deepen community policing, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has released the official contact numbers of all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across Abuja.
The move, according to the Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, is designed to enhance direct communication between residents and police leadership, improve transparency, and ensure faster response to emerging security concerns within the territory.
CP Dantawaye explained that the initiative is part of his broader strategic plan to bring police authority closer to the people, foster trust, and promote stronger police–community collaboration in the fight against crime. He noted that making senior officers more accessible would encourage public participation, early incident reporting, and timely intervention during emergencies.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Anipr, mipra, the Command reassured residents of its unwavering commitment to their safety and urged them to make proper use of the newly released contacts for security-related matters only.
The FCT Police Command emphasised that the published phone numbers will help fast-track communication, deter criminal activities, and strengthen the overall security architecture of the nation’s capital.
SP Adeh added that the Command will continue to adopt innovative measures to enhance operational efficiency and sustain public confidence.
The FCT Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly as part of ongoing efforts to keep Abuja safe.
