It was a shock find on Sunday as vigilant citizens intercepted a man with the freshly severed head of his girlfriend concealed in a polythene bag. The dastardly act took place at the Orozo, Angwan-Sarki area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The victim’s body was later found in the suspect’s home, still fresh and bleeding. According to sources, the duo had been in a relationship for about eight months before the tragic incident.
As of the time of filing this report, law enforcement agents had cordoned off the area and were working to piece together the circumstances leading to the heinous crime. The suspect is expected to be prosecuted after investigations are concluded.
Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect’s suspicious behavior gave him away, leading to the discovery of the gruesome murder scene. The motive behind the heinous act was yet to be unraveled, but preliminary investigations suggested it may not be unconnected to ritual practices often associated with fraudulent activities.
