Fear and tension continue to spread across Oyo State after kidnappers released a disturbing new video showing the abducted principal and teachers of Community High School, Esinele, in Oriire Local Government Area pleading desperately for help after spending 13 days in captivity.

The emotional video, which surfaced on Thursday, captured the victims looking weak, exhausted, and traumatized as they appealed directly to Governor Seyi Makinde and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to negotiate with their captors.

Speaking in the footage, the school principal, Mrs. Alamu, made a heartbreaking plea on behalf of the hostages.

“Please, we are begging. This is our 13th day in the den with both the children and us, under the rain and scorching sun. Please do not fight these terrorists, Gov Seyi Makinde, negotiate with them and give them whatever they demand,” she cried.

The victims were abducted on May 15, 2026, after heavily armed gunmen invaded schools in the Ahoro-Esinele community, kidnapping teachers, pupils, and the principal in a shocking attack that sparked outrage across the state.

Tragically, Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed that one of the abducted teachers has already been killed by the kidnappers, escalating fears over the safety of the remaining captives.

In the latest video, the hostages appeared visibly distressed and severely weakened after nearly two weeks in harsh conditions deep inside the forest. Reports indicate the kidnappers became more aggressive following an earlier rescue operation by security forces.

Governor Makinde has assured residents that security agencies, including the Nigerian military, police, Amotekun Corps, and local vigilantes, are actively working to secure the release of the victims.

According to the governor, some rescue operatives reportedly encountered improvised explosive devices (IEDs) while attempting to access the kidnappers’ hideout, highlighting the dangerous nature of the operation.
