Adejuwon Toyese, 19 and two others, Endurance Benedict and Arowolo Seun who are believed to be members of Eiye Confraternity have been arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for murder.
They were arraigned on four counts bordering on murder and membership of an unlawful society.
According to the police prosecutor, Idoko John, the three men and others, on March 8, 2018 at 10.30am at Esa Oke, unlawfully killed one Sunday Abayomi by shooting him.
Idoko said though some suspects connected to the crime were immediately arrested and arraigned before an Esa Oke Chief Magistrates’ Court, Adejuwon, Endurance and Arowolo, had been on the run.
Luck, however, ran out on them, when the suspects were apprehended by men of Osun State Anti-Cultism Squad.
The prosecutor said the accused had committed an offence contrary to Section 316 and punishable under sections 324, 319(1), 516 and 64 (a)(b) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The presiding magistrate, R.A. Olayemi, ordered that the defendants be remanded in Ilesa Prison pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
She adjourned the matter till Thursday, February 21, 2019 for mention at Esa Oke Chief Magistrates’ Court.
