The Yola Electricity Distribution company, YEDC has taken off 50 per cent of bills issued to customers in February.
Hanawa Rufus, the Taraba Area Head of YEDC announced speaking to news men on Monday in Jalingo.
He confirmed that customers would be charged half the bill they paid in January.
Pointing to the low supply of electricity given to customers, he said it prompted the 50 per cent slash.
Rufus also confirmed that the three-week blackout in February was a result of low power supply to the company.
He said Taraba needs about 110 megawatts monthly but only received 30 to 40 megawatts. Also he said Jalingo needed 20 megawatts but had only two to three megawatts during the period.
He also assured that the company had distributed over 1,000 pre-paid meters since July 2014.
