Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has assured that tackling indiscriminate violence would be one of his top of priorities once elected into office.
Buhari said this in a condolence message issued today through his media campaign committee in Abuja where he expressed outrage and grief at the latest terrorist suicide bomb attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State, which left at least 54 people dead.
The former military head of state said the frequency with which terrorists destroy lives and properties embarrassed him beyond measure. He noted that terrorist violence has achieved nothing good for anybody and that his administration would confront this insecurity problem with determination and remarkable zeal.
Buhari also explained that nothing can justify such endless and brutal terrorist violence targeted at innocent people, which has led to a setback in the economic and social life of the people in areas where terrorists are notoriously active.
He expressed concerns over the ease with which suicide bombers blend with law-abiding citizens and reach their targets undetected, thereby calling for increased vigilance among the people.
Buhari explained that majority of the people have no idea about the features and characteristics of suicide bombers, and cannot, therefore, identify such killers in their company.
The APC Presidential candidate also extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the latest terrorist attacks in Maiduguri as well as those who lost their loved ones in the recent violence in Rivers State, in which some unidentified gunmen attacked and killed APC supporters in the state.Follow Us on Social Media
