Voting has started at some polling units here in Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos. There is however a noticeable low turnout of voters.
At unit 18, Ishaga motor park, less than 200 voters were accredited out of 996 registered voters.
Funke Abioye, presiding officer, said it is low compared to the turnout in the presidential elections. The same is the case at unit 10, Balogun area. Out of the 991 registered voters, less than 300 were accredited. But at another unit in Ishaga bus stop, 156 voters were accredited out of a little over 300 that were registered. So far, card readers are working well and the election has been peaceful.
