Prophet T. B. Joshua, one of Nigeria’s televangelists has been invited by the government of South Sudan to pray for leaders and people of the country. Ateny Wek Ateny, spokesperson for the presidency in South Sudan said during a programme on a local radio channel, “he is coming to hold prayers for peace, he is coming to pray for the leaders.”Prophet Joshua became popular in the country following a prophecy about a failed coup, prior to the crisis that started in 2013. He was said to have been offered an advisory role in the government of the country. It is therefore not surprising that he is being invited to pray for the leaders and the country.
