The Kebbi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has declared a full strike action in the state civil service.
While addressing newsmen shortly after a meeting held at the office of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Kao’je, Kebbi State NLC chairman, said the union gave the state government an ultimatum last month. He said the ultimatum expired yesterday without the state government agreeing to their terms.
Speaking about the demands of the NLC, Kao’je said, “Our request is that, the state government should issue the circular that would determine the position of every civil servant in the state on the N18, 000 minimum wage as well as the retirement benefits of workers, which was not met.”
He urged all civil servants in the state to remain at home until the government agrees to their demands.Follow Us on Social Media
