According to Olabisi Kolawole, Force public relations officer, who announced this in a statement issued on Tuesday, the directive becomes imperative following recent activities of members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in some parts of the country.

The Force spokesperson disclosed that so far in the course of the operation, the Police have arrested four people in Anambra State, six persons in Imo State, 11 in Delta State and one person in Abia State, in connection with social disorder.

The IGP stated that the operational order empowers the police to arrest anybody fomenting any act of violence or disorder, or any act inimical to the security of the nation. He further warns that anyone who is so arrested for inciting violence would be charged to court accordingly, irrespective of their class or status in the society.
