Frances Oneya, daughter of retired Brigadier General Dominic Oneya, former military
administrator of Kano State has been killed by unknown gunmen.
This has been confirmed by the police in Delta State.
She was killed on Friday by unknown armed men just as she came out of a commercial bank at Effurun-Warri, Delta State where she was said to have gone to make some cash withdrawal.
Celestine Kalu, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO who confirmed the unfortunate incidence to newsmen said the assailants were the same group that earlier raided motorists and commuters on the Effurun/Ughelli expressway in the early hours of the day.
According to the police, the suspects made away with the victim’s hand bag.
However, her car and the sum of N250,000 she had withdrawn shortly before she was murdered were recovered by the police in the boot of her car.
