American fitness influencer and content creator Ashton Hall has declared Nigeria his favourite destination in Africa after completing a multi-country tour across the continent, describing Lagos as “an African version of Miami.”

Hall made the remarks during a live stream on his Kick account while reflecting on his experiences in Africa, where he visited several countries before concluding his tour in Nigeria.

“Lagos, Nigeria feels like an African version of Miami,” Hall said during the livestream. “I stayed in Lagos when I was in Nigeria. Their culture, food—I mean, I like all of them. Africa is fire.”

The viral content creator, whose fitness routines and motivational videos have earned millions of followers across social media platforms, said Nigeria stood out because of its vibrant atmosphere, rich culture and welcoming people.

Although he described Nigeria as an amazing place to visit, Hall noted that he would prefer to return as a tourist rather than relocate permanently.

“I would definitely come back from time to time, but I don’t think I would live there,” he added.

Throughout the journey, he documented local experiences ranging from fitness sessions and sightseeing to tasting traditional meals and interacting with residents. His videos attracted millions of views and generated widespread engagement from audiences across Africa and beyond.

Hall’s glowing endorsement quickly went viral on social media, with many Nigerians celebrating his comments as a positive reflection of Lagos and Nigeria’s growing international appeal.

Several users shared stories about the city’s unique character, describing Lagos as a place where culture, entertainment, business and resilience come together to create an unforgettable experience for visitors.

The influencer first rose to global prominence through his cinematic fitness videos, disciplined morning routines and motivational content, which gained widespread popularity between 2024 and 2025. His African tour represents a major expansion of his content into travel, lifestyle and cultural storytelling.

His remarks also come as Nigeria continues to promote tourism, entertainment and cultural exchange as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s global image and attract more international visitors.

Whether Lagos truly deserves the title of “Africa’s Miami” remains a matter of opinion, but Hall’s endorsement has undoubtedly reignited conversations about the city’s energy, nightlife, creativity and growing influence on the global stage.
