The inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as president and vice president respectively were done on Monday. The event followed the scheduled time despite the rain that almost messed up the venue.
It was witnessed by heads of government from Africa, including from Ghana, South Africa and Rwanda. Former heads of state like Yakubu Gowon and Goodluck Jonathan were also in attendance. Western nations also sent representatives.
There was an initial fear that the rain would delay activities there because of the disruptions caused by it including the collapse of the a podium built for the occasion.
But the organisers quickly set in motion and put things back on course.
Tinubu arrived two minutes ahead of the scheduled time and events started falling in place enough for the inauguration to be done as scheduled.
When he was called to take his oath of office, he did not go with his family alone, he also requested President Buhari and family to join him.
