In a heartbreaking twist to an otherwise legendary career, 8-time Mr. Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman once hailed as the most powerful bodybuilder on the planet has revealed he is now struggling to walk, due to the toll of extreme heavy lifting and multiple botched back surgeries

Widely regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders in history, Coleman, now in his late 50s, pushed the limits of human strength during his prime, lifting weights most men wouldn’t dare attempt. But the same body that won him eight consecutive Mr. Olympia titles between 1998 and 2005 is now paying the ultimate price.
“I have no regrets,” Coleman once said in an interview, “but if I had known the outcome, maybe I would’ve done things differently.”

Coleman has undergone more than a dozen surgeries on his back, hips, and spine many of which he claims were poorly performed or unsuccessful, leaving him in chronic pain and partial immobility. In recent footage shared online, fans were devastated to see the icon using a wheelchair and crutches to move short distances.
“The doctors say I may never walk unassisted again,” Coleman admitted in a recent documentary-style video. “It’s the price I paid to be the best.”

Fans around the world have expressed their support and admiration for the former champ, praising his relentless determination and refusal to give in to despair. Many now view Coleman not just as a bodybuilding icon but as a symbol of resilience and mental toughness.
Still, his tragic decline has reignited discussions within the fitness and bodybuilding community about the long-term risks of extreme training, performance-enhancing drugs, and the importance of post-career medical attention.
