ASUU Zonal Coordinator Escapes from Kidnappers

The Benin Zonal Coordinator of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Monday Igbafe, has escaped from his kidnappers.

Igbafe, a professor of political science at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, in Esan West local government area of Edo State, was abducted Saturday night as he was about to drive into his residence and taken away in his ash- coloured Toyota Highlander with registration number ABJ 180 JQ.

Confirming the lucky escape of the former chairman of ASUU AAU, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PRO) Edo State Command, Joel Moses Yamu, a superintendent of police, (SP) said on Monday that the “The Command is aware of the report. Operatives of the Ekpoma Division mounted pressure on the kidnappers which led to the escape of the victim. We are on the trail of the suspects to ensure they are brought to book.”
