Afghan Presidential Candidates Sign Deal For Unity

Abdullah Abdullah, Afghan Presidential candidate has accepted that Ashraf Ghani, his rival should be the leader, following months of deadlock.

This move followed the completion of a comprehensive audit of all eight million votes which began in July.Abdullah’s spokesman said that both men had agreed to form a government of national unity with Ghani as president and Abdullah nominating a chief executive.

Also, Ghani’s spokesman said that “there was no longer any dispute between the two sides

“Both camps have agreed 100 per cent on everything and we’ll sign the deal tomorrow”.

It could be recalled that following June’s election, both contenders accused one another of fraud.
