In most of the voting units at Ibadan North East Local Council, INEC officials arrived on time and accreditation and voting went on peacefully.
The PDP candidate, Seyi Makinde voted around 9:35 AM at Open Space Abayomi Unit 001, Ward 11.
A shouting match which nearly marred voting happened at Open Space Ward 11, Unit 31 when the PDP agent raised issue over the showing of ballot papers by two voters to the APC agent after thumb-printing. However, security agents at the unit resolved the matter by repositioning the voting cubicle at an angle that it would be impossible for any voter to show his ballot paper to any of the agents.
Voters are still being lured with cash to influence the party they vote for. Agents of the two major political parties, PDP and APC, are seen milling around voting units in twos scouting for voters who are willing to trade their votes for cash.
