President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as an affirmation of his visionary leadership and commitment to good governance.

In a statement released by the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s victory in Saturday’s governorship election was overwhelming and historic, making him only the third governor in Anambra’s political history to win a second term.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu said.

The President commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible election, describing the exercise as a reflection of Nigeria’s democratic strength.

Tinubu praised Governor Soludo—popularly known as Mr. Solution—for translating academic excellence into practical governance that promotes accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.

“Governor Soludo has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people,” the President stated.

Reflecting on his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several landmark projects, Tinubu lauded the governor for “bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance,” adding that Anambra is “living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.”

While urging Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents, Tinubu assured him of the Federal Government’s continued support and collaboration for the state’s development.

The President also applauded the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting what observers described as a credible and transparent poll.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied,” Tinubu said.

He charged INEC to sustain the current standards and further improve future elections to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
