A scientist who got infected with Ebola while working for the World Health Organisation, WHO, in Sierra Leone has recovered and had been discharged from a German hospital.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the University Medical Centre, Hamburg-Eppendorf says the unidentified man, who was brought to Germany in late August, had regained his health and had returned to his home country.

The man, a Senegalese was infected while working for the agency as a consultant in West Africa, where the biggest Ebola outbreak is currently being experienced.

Meanwhile, another patient simply identified a Ugandan who worked for an Italian aid group is being treated in Frankfurt. He was brought from Sierra Leone on Friday.
