In what could become one of the most impactful youth empowerment programmes in Nigeria’s history, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has announced a landmark partnership with Commit Technology & Consult Limited to train 20 million Nigerians in digital skills by 2030.

The agreement, signed in Abuja, is designed to unlock massive opportunities for young Nigerians by equipping them with skills needed to thrive in today’s fast-growing digital economy.

Officials say the initiative will train at least one million youths every year, reaching communities across all 36 states and 774 Local Government Areas. For many young people struggling with unemployment, this programme could be a turning point.

Beyond technical skills, the training will also focus on building responsible digital citizens—combining technology education with civic values to prepare participants for real-world challenges.

The project will kick off with a pilot phase in six states before expanding nationwide. Digital Literacy Centres will also be established across NOA offices, creating accessible hubs where young Nigerians can learn, get certified, and connect to new opportunities.

Experts believe this move could significantly boost employability, support entrepreneurship, and position Nigeria as a stronger player in the global digital economy.

For millions of youths, this is more than just a government programme—it’s a chance to gain relevant skills, earn better income, and secure a future in a rapidly changing world.
