The federal government will soon install a new cooling system at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, Lagos. Yakubu Dati, general manager, public communications, Federal Airports Authority, FAAN, explained that the government has opted for a complete replacement of the cooling system at the terminal as a lasting solution to the epileptic cooling system, which was installed over 32 years ago and has become obsolete and, therefore, difficult to maintain. He says: “The procurement and installation of the three new chillers, due to be completed within the first quarters of 2014, is expected to substantially improve the cooling system and thereby enhance passenger comfort at the terminal, in line with FAAN’s mission of providing customer-centric services at all our airport.”
Dati added that this would also complement other efforts being made by the federal government under its Transformation Agenda in the aviation industry, to modernise facilities at Nigerian airport, in line with international standards and best practices.
