Jonathan appoints Rufa’i Alkali as political adviser

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Rufa’i Alkali, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as his Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

 

Reuben Abati, Presidential spokesman, disclosed this on Thursday on his twitter handle.

 

The Professor of Political Science who hails from Gombe State was appointed Pro-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State in 2013.

 

Alkali steps into the shoes of Ahmed Gulak, former political aid to Jonathan who was sacked in April, this year.

 

Abati announced that the President also appointed Hajia Baraka Sani, the erstwhile Kano State Commissioner for Agriculture as his Senior Special Assistant for Schools Agriculture Programme.

 

Abati says, “both appointments are with immediate effect.”
