For context, the current records are impressive but fall short of Hilda’s ambitious attempt. In 2015, a Singaporean company cooked the world’s largest pot of curry, measuring 23,616 litres, estimated at just 1.5 meters high and 4.5 meters wide. In 2023, the Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan, India, prepared sweet rice in a pot spanning 11.2 meters wide and 4.5 meters deep.

If successful, Hilda Baci’s attempt will not only surpass these but also set the record for the tallest and deepest cooking pot in history.

However, the announcement has stirred mixed reactions online. While many Nigerians are excited to see Jollof Rice finally take the global stage, others believe the chef should have chosen a different dish, suggesting her signature “Asun Rice” might have been a better pick.

Still, fans and food lovers across Africa are eagerly anticipating the challenge, with many already predicting that this could be Hilda’s biggest cultural moment yet.
