The Federal Government has announced that Friday, September 5, 2025, will be observed as a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The declaration was made by the Ministry of Interior, urging Muslims across the country to use the occasion for prayers, reflection, and promotion of peace, love, and tolerance in line with the Prophet’s teachings.

The Federal Government further encouraged Nigerians of all faiths to embrace the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence, stressing that the holiday provides an opportunity to strengthen bonds across communities.
