Even as voting gets under way in Osun State, a number of APC leaders earlier arrested by security agents overnight have been released.
Narrating how he was arrested and detained, Wale Adedoyin, Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture said when the security agents came for him last night he initially refused to open the gate to his house for them.
He said that was because he had earlier called the head of the Directorate of State Security Services, DSSS, in the state who advised him not to open for them.
Adedoyin said he invariably had to surrender himself to them when they threatened to blow up his residence. He said at that point one of the security men had scaled the fence and opened the gate for others to enter the premises.
The Agriculture commissioner said the team that came to his residence was made up of soldiers, DSSS men wearing hoods and even FRSC. He said they refused to tell him what his offence was.
He added that on their way to the DSSS office in Osogbo, the team also attempted to pick up Lanre Balogun, executive secretary of Ilesa East but he was not at home.
Another APC leader who was abducted is Tijani Oladosu. He said he was picked up at his residence at about 1.30am. He said his brother had earlier called to alert him that some people claiming to be security men had arrested one other APC leader simply identified as Owonikoko and that they were coming for him too.
Oladosu said when they got to his house and he was reluctant to give himself up for arrest, they threatened to kill him. He said he was then pushed into one of the vehicles in the convoy of his abductors and made to lie face down until they got to Ekoehinde.
At Ekoehinde, he said, the team picked up more APC leaders and more in Ikirun as well as other places. They were all taken to the DSSS office in Osogbo.
Strangely, Adedoyin said when their abductors eventually dropped them off at the DSSS office in Osogbo, the operatives they met there were only asking them what their offence was.
The state coordinator of the DSSS therefore released them at about 11.30 am on Saturday.Follow Us on Social Media
