The Nigerian Army, on Sunday, said it has recaptured Chibok town from the Boko Haram Insurgent group.
The military made this known in a statement released by Colonel S.K Usman, spokesperson of the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army.
Usman said troops launched a heavy attack on the Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok, Borno State on Saturday and recaptured the town.
He added that the military was still carrying out mop up operations in the surrounding environment, adding that Chibok is now fully secured.
It will be recalled, that the town was captured by the insurgents last week Thursday, months after over 200 schoolgirls were kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School in the town.
