As at 08. 45 am, nearly all the polling agents of the centres/units visited in the area had arrived and were preparing to get voting started Voting commenced shortly after.
Voting has been largely peaceful all over the place. However, there appeared to have been some unease in certain areas, as some of the voters expressed fears that they did not feel safe in those areas because of the development following the outcome of the last presidential election. Though there were no conflicts, some people claimed that the presence of a group of people was a reason for them to feel intimidated. They assumed that those persons whose presence were intimidating are likely to be members or sympathisers of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Another observation is that there was a large turnout compared with what happened during the last poll in February. This would not be unconnected with the tension that developed between people of Igbo extraction and the Yoruba, indigenous people of Lagos who feel threatened that they were being taunted by the other tribe despite the fact that they had lived together for a long time.
