The All-Progressives Congress, APC got a boost on Thursday as it rounded off its campaign for the Osun State Governorship election. The boost was not just by the number of supporters at the rally. It was the support the party got from a splinter group of the Accord Party, the party of Governor Ademola Adeleke. That added colour to the grand finale of the campaign ahead of the August 15 governorship election featuring APC and Accord Party, among others.
Freedom Park, Osogbo, venue of the mega rally was filled to the brim with supporters, party members across the 30 local government areas of the state causing gridlock on the roads leading to the venue where Prof. Christopher Imumolen, the factional national chairman of the Accord Party and his national working committee endorsed and declared their support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
Imumolen directed all Accord members across the State to vote for Oyebamiji, while also endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. He said the president has demonstrated the resilience and courage required to lead Nigeria.
He said, “Tinubu has shown the ability to navigate the country’s complex political and economic challenges without being influenced by ethnic or religious considerations”
Godswill Akpabio, Senate President and representative of President Tinubu urged the electorate to go out enmasse to vote for the candidates of their choice, but they should choose wisely.
Akpabio said, “It is advisable to vote for AMBO to experience what we are experiencing at the federal level”
He also said that as the Accord Party has endorsed the APC, “you should go out and vote for AMBO Accordingly, accordingly and accordingly!!!”
