Tragedy struck early Wednesday, 7 January 2015 when a hit-and-run vehicle ran over a middle-aged man (identity unknown) along Lagos-Ibadan expressway at the Ojodu-Berger axis of Lagos state.
The victim was knocked down as he attempted to cross the express.
It took officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC over half an hour after the incident to take the critically injured victim to hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses at the scene of the incident lamented on the delay in taking the victim to hospital. Some of them who spoke with the magazine say two Police vehicles occupied by officers passed by the victim without stopping to save him, despite all efforts by the FRSC officers and onlookers to stop them.
He was however taken to the Hospital by the officers of the FRSC in a state of coma.
