As more reactions trail the sudden removal of   Ibrahim Lamorde, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the anti-corruption agency, a replacement has been announced.  He is Ibrahim Magu, a top-level official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the EFCC. Magu is reportedly known as a pragmatic investigator of the commission at its inception. He was removed along with several other key officials by Farida Waziri when she became chairman in 2008.

The embattled Lamorde, who has been the EFCC helmsman  since 2011, has been alleged to have engaged in some  financial misconducts.

Lamorde took over as the chairman of the anti-graft agency on  November 23, 2011 after Waziri was dismissed by the former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
