Low turnout of voters characterized today’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections in parts of Lagos, compared to the presidential election. An electoral officer at Polling Unit 032, Ward C, in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, Adamu Mosuru said the process has been peaceful but many people didn’t really come out to cast their votes.
Another polling agent, Taiwo Kayode who admitted that people didn’t really come out much to vote, also explained that she and her party (APC) members had to start going from house to house to call people out to vote but their response was not encouraging of the party agents was seen ringing to call out people to come and vote at Polling Unit 076, Ward C in Alimosho LGA of Lagos State.
Meanwhile, cases of vote buying still rampant in the area as some party members were seen in groups distributing money.
