There appears to be a bold move to pull political muscles in Lagos State. And the battle is among voters, not the politicians. Though, politicians took advantage of the two weeks interval between the presidential election and the state elections to either, consolidate or reverse the outcome of the last exercise, voters are the kings on election day.
And they seem to be well prepared for it. For instance, in Mushin area of Lagos State voters are out in good number. There appears to be some consciousness about the direction of voting in the state where there is a three-horse race involving Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Olajide Adediran at the gubernatorial level. The sing song had been about the real owners of Lagos and the management of the state since 1999, which the opposition believes had been to the advantage of Bola Tinubu who was declared winner of the February 25 presidential election.
However, there is a cause for worry: people have started noticing that security personnel have not been visible in certain areas of the state.
