Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has expressed concerns over the recent injury sustained by Victor Moses, the team’s midfielder, in his club’s 3 – 1 defeat to Sunderland in the English Premier League, EPL, on Saturday.
Moses, who created the opportunity that gave Stoke City a solitary goal in the encounter, was forced out at the Stadium of Light on the 18th minute with a thigh injury. The injury now makes him a doubt for Nigeria’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifying game against Sudan.
While expressing concerns about Moses’ injury, Keshi said he hopes the injury is not as serious as the services of Moses would be needed for the two-legged fixture against Sudan.
“I was naturally worried to see him (Moses) get injured. He’s been in good form and I just hope that the injury is not that serious because we need him for those important games against Sudan,” Keshi said. Moses, who was just recalled to the team, had been tipped to inspire the Eagles to their first win in the qualifiers. As it stands, the Eagles will need to beat struggling Sudan to progress
