The Middle East teeters on the edge of all-out regional war as Iran unleashes a massive retaliatory missile and drone barrage in response to the U.S.-Israeli strikes that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Intense video footage shows U.S. Patriot defense systems absolutely demolishing incoming Iranian ballistic missiles over Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar—the Pentagon’s largest forward headquarters in the Middle East. Bright explosions lit the night sky as interceptors engaged threats head-on, with Qatar’s defenses (bolstered by U.S. assets) claiming successful neutralization of most projectiles. Sirens blared across Doha, and witnesses reported loud blasts, though damage remained limited with minor injuries from debris in some areas.

In a stunning blow to global aviation, a major explosion struck Dubai International Airport—the world’s busiest for international traffic—following Iranian missile strikes on the UAE. The Dubai Media Office confirmed damage to terminals, flight suspensions, and at least four injuries in the incident. Iranian claims targeted a supposed regional CIA headquarters in Dubai, though U.S. and UAE officials condemned the attacks as blatant aggression against civilian infrastructure. Additional strikes damaged landmarks like the Burj Al Arab hotel (minor fire from drone debris) and Jebel Ali port.

China has urgently demanded an immediate ceasefire, voicing deep concern over the U.S.-Israeli operations and warning that continued escalation threatens global stability. Beijing called for respect of Iran’s sovereignty and a swift return to dialogue to prevent broader catastrophe.

Iran’s missiles expanded to strike dozens of locations across Israel, with reports of direct hits in central areas (including near Tel Aviv) after overwhelming volume challenged Iron Dome interceptors. Air raid sirens wailed nationwide as residents sought shelter, though Israeli systems downed the majority in initial waves.

Footage from Iran shows pro-regime crowds mourning Khamenei’s death while missiles launch in the background—blending grief with vows of vengeance.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared “the most massive and powerful offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic” is imminent, promising devastating strikes on Israel and U.S. bases throughout the region. The IRGC framed the campaign as righteous retaliation for the “criminal aggression” that eliminated Khamenei and senior leaders.

With Gulf airspace shut down, civilian flights grounded, oil markets volatile, and fears of wider involvement mounting, U.S. President Donald Trump warned of overwhelming force if attacks persist. The killing of Khamenei has created a dangerous leadership vacuum in Tehran, fueling uncertainty as the conflict enters its most volatile phase yet.
