Candidates vying for different positions in Ogun State can now continue their campaign exercise, as the Independent National Electoral Commission, Ogun State, has lifted ban on political campaings in the state for the 2015 general elections.
According to Ogunseye Olayinka, public affairs officer, of the commission in the state, the lifting of embargo on political campaigns in the state was done in accordance with the electoral law. She stressed that it was in compliance with Section 30 (1) of the Electoral Acts 2010, which provides that notice of election shall be issued not later than 90 days before the election.
“Presidential and national assembly elections shall take place in all the 20 local government areas of Ogun State on February 14, 2015,while governorship and state House of Assembly elections will hold on February 28, 2015.
