The setting at St. James Secondary School, Arigidi-Akoko, Ondo State on Saturday, March 30 was indicative of a big ceremony.
People in their thousands from all walks of life graced the event where of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Ganiyu Adams, Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland gave a befitting burial to his father.
Pa Lamidi Adams, 80, died on Saturday, September 14, at a private hospital in Lagos after a brief illness and was buried according to Islamic rite.
Pa Adams worked at Nigeria limited, an Italian company, as Head of Transport Unit, before venturing into his personal transportation business.
The three-day event started on Thursday, March 28 with elders’ traditional party tagged “ Ko Bale”.
Gani Adams and his wife, Mojisola dressed in regalia decked with fitted beads and to match cap and head gear respectively. The Alaafin of Oyo was ably represented and so was the Ooni of Ife. Many monarchs graced the event.
While observing Special Jumat Services and Prayer at Arigidi-Akoko central mosque, Gani Adams pledged the donation of a new car to the Chief Imam of the central mosque.
He also thanked Islamic clerics for his late father.
