Declaring War Against Cancer

Adetutu Adeleke, Convener of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, CECP, has urged the media in Nigeria to join the war against cancer.

This was disclosed in her welcome address at the Banquet of Stars Against Cancer in Nigeria, BOSAC to mark the national cancer week tagged, Big War vs Cancer held in Lagos on Sunday, June 8.

The programme which was organised by CECP, Nigeria was anchored by Abimbola Oloyede and Patrick Doyle, an actor.

At the event, tributes were rendered to the loving memory of late Alex Ibru, founder of the Guardian newspaper who lost the battle to cancer on November 20, 2011 and late Omolara-eni Olowookere, the MD/CEO of Intercontinental industry who died on May 12, 2014.

Also at the event, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as Tuface, Maiden Ibru, wife of the late Alex Ibru and Evita Moussalli, chief operating director of Steam and Globe Broadcasting Communications Limited were inducted as special philanthropes of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the big war against cancer.
