He plays as a central defender, both for Croatia, his country and his club, Liverpool. But the fact that his job revolves around the football pitch has not stopped Dejan Lovren from being an entrepreneur.
Lovren, who has a good work rate as a center back, also runs a clothing brand known as Russel Brown.
According to Lovren, the clothing brand, which is designed and produced in Croatia, is influenced by urban style and has a trademark red owl, which stands for power and perfection.
“We wanted Croatia to have an urban and distinctive brand. The Russel Brown brand is dedicated to modern people who feel good about themselves and want to be different in simplicity,” Lovren said.
The 24-year-old sticks logos on shirts, hats and hoodies and promotes them by taking grainy iPhone snaps of his teammates and other patrons who wear them.
Luka Modric, the Croatian midfielder who plays for Real Madrid, and Frank Ribery, the French winger, are some of the few players who have enjoyed the services of Lovren’s brand and have continued to help him market the brand among their teammates.
The fashion outfit has eight people, including two designers, in its employ.
