Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has officially opened his largest cement facility outside Nigeria, a $250 million mega-plant in Ivory Coast’s Attingué industrial zone, near Abidjan.
The plant, with a production capacity of 3 million tons annually, is set to transform the West African nation’s construction sector by reducing dependence on cement imports and boosting local supply.
According to Dangote, the project is more than an industrial investment — it’s a driver of sustainable economic growth. The facility is expected to create between 2,000 and 3,000 direct jobs, supporting Côte d’Ivoire’s economic diversification and infrastructure development goals.
